Inspiration comes in many ways

07 Jun

It has been a very long time since I have posted…Could it be that between my course work in my Masters program plus the intensity at work have combined to consume my precious blogging moments?  Well, a likely excuse, but here I am after all.

Searching online for a topic for my Technology in the Arts and Humanities course, I logged onto Scoop-it, and discovered a headline that stopped me in my tracks. Do you know what it feels like when you have been trying to capture your entire philosophy of educational technology and you just can’t find that snippit that defines the entire essay?  I have been saying for some time now, “if you can’t teach 21st Century skills without technology, then you can’t teach them with it.”   But I just get blank stares from those who are hearing it.  I am trying to explain how the pedagogy has to come first.

My inspiration today came from the headline in the  peer-reviewed by my neurons  blog by  Eric Horowitz,  “Technology that can be used for education is not the same thing as educational technology”.  That is exactly what I have been trying to say.  Will that get blank stares too?
